Hey all, Tom Richards here as always and welcome back to You Should Be Watching. The series where we let you know what shows you need to keep your eye on. This week, get ready to laugh because I think that you should be watching Mike Myers in The Pentaverate.
What’s a Pentaverate?
The Pentaverate is a 2022 comedy series created and starring Mike Myers and released on Netflix. The series follows an old Canadian journalist as he tries to keep his job. The series also features other notable actors such as Ken Jeong, Keegan-Michael Key and is even narrated by Jeremy Irons. Combining a stacked comedic cast with a story that’s filled to the brim with conspiracy theories, the series will leave you grinning ear to ear. Fun fact as well, the series is actually based of a film that Mike Myers also starred in called I Think that I’ve Married an Axe Murderer where the Pentaverate was a throwaway joke. Funny how things work out isn’t it.
A messed-up Illuminati
From the start, you’ll notice that The Pentaverate is basically the illuminati. If you’ve seen the marketing or even just the logo, you’ll see it. They’re not hiding it either. The first episode starts with a kidnapping and people in matching robes. If that doesn’t scream illuminati or conspiracy, then I don’t know what does. Because of this, you might think that the series is all dark and serious, that is definitely not the case. Like most things with Mike Myers, the series is one massive parody on most conspiracy theories. From the moon landing set to secret organisations controlling the world, this series makes fun of it all.

Mike Myers is back
Mike Myers is known for playing multiple roles in a project. Not only did he create and write the series, but he also plays 8 different characters. Within just the first episode, every 2nd character you meet will be Mike Myers. From a member of the secret organisation to a news reporter and even a cracked-out conspiracy theorist. By the end of the series, you’ll have a few favourite characters, and I can assure you that Mike Myers will be at least 2 of them. Even the cameo appearances are Mike Myers. I won’t spoil which characters show up, but at first, you’ll question it, but then you’ll just roll with it.
Whelp, there you go, a brief introduction and why you should be watching The Pentaverate. From the abundance of Mike Myers to the ludicrous conspiracy theories, I’m certain that you’ll have a blast watching this series. And you’ll be laughing the whole time. The Pentaverate is now streaming on Netflix.
