Out of ideas on what to do with the rest of the summer? Look no further! Here is a list of five ideas perfect for your summer bucket list to complete for the best summer fun. The best part? They’re all inspired by your favourite movies.
Grown Ups – Plan a Lake or Beach Getaway
There are plenty of amazing lakes and beaches in Australia so why not plan a weekend getaway with your friends. To fully be inspired by the movie Grown Ups, plan to go canoeing, paddleboarding, or even go to a water park while you’re away.
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off – Visit an Art Gallery With Friends
Grab your two besties and head to your local art gallery just like Ferris, Cameron and Sloane do in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Maybe don’t skip school for this one and go over the holidays or on the weekend instead. You could even create the classic montage of the three of them at the gallery to commemorate your time there.
The Parent Trap – Learn an Extremely Extensive Handshake
The summer camp in The Parent Trap used to be one of my dream holiday destinations as a kid. But since I’m not American and no longer a kid, the best thing I can do is recreate or create my own extremely extensive handshake. Grab your best friend, significant other, or even sibling and make up a handshake together you can do every time you catch up all summer long.
Monte Carlo – Become a Tourist in Your City for the day
Do you know that scene in Monte Carlo where the three girls are rushing around Paris trying to do every touristy thing as fast as possible? Why not make it a challenge and do it in your home city. If you’re not planning to go away, lookup touristy things in your city that you normally would never do, get some friends involved, and try and do as many things as you can in one day. You may even discover a new favourite restaurant or spot in your hometown. This is one that should be on EVERYONE’S bucket list
What a Girl Wants – Go to a Market
What A Girl Wants makes London look like the best vacation spot, but if you can’t go on a trip to London anytime soon the next best thing is to recreate the scene where Daphne goes to the clothes market. Luckily there are markets everywhere, from artists’ markets to food markets. Look up local markets in your area, choose your favourite one, and make a day out of it!
