We all have our ‘go-to’ fast food orders. Whether it be a large Zinger box meal with a Sunkist from KFC or a medium Big Mac meal with a Coke from Maccas, we are more often than not pleased with our favourite meals.
Has the drive through worker at the window ever told you that a specific menu item doesn’t exist? Or maybe you found out that one of your favourite fast-food items has supposedly been ‘enhanced! How frustrating!
Let’s take a look at some of the notable omissions we all want back!
The McChamp – McDonalds
The McChamp was my go to since the debut of Maccas new tasty chicken range in 2013.
The new menu included the McSpicy and McGrilled alongside the legendary McChamp Burger which consisted of battered chicken, lettuce, tomato relish and mayo.
The item along with the other two chicken burgers were cut in June 2015 as Maccas were preparing to launch its infamous ‘create your taste’ campaign which didn’t quite hit the heights it had expected.
There’s also a facebook page rooting for the return of the McChamp!

Krushers – KFC
Now this is a protest to get behind!
The decision to cut KFC Krushers from the menu remains one of the biggest mysteries in fast-food history when they vanished in 2019 with no formal reasoning. The crushed ice milkshakes came in a variety of flavours including Mocha, Golden Gaytime, Kookies ānā Kream and Chocolate Cornetto and were a cherished menu item.
You know what to do! Help bring them back by signing this petition: https://www.change.org/p/kfc-australia-bring-back-the-kfc-krushers
The OG onion rings – Hungry Jacks
New and improved Hungry Jacks Fries – Tick, new and improved Hungry Jacks Onion Rings – Yeah, nah.
The old onion rings were almost like a calamari ring in disguise. Crumbed, golden and crisp and more importantly, delicious! The ‘new and improved’ are now battered and even on a good day, extremely oily.
How about we pass on those onion rings.

Pasta Zoo – McDonalds
Pasta at McDonalds? You read that right!
It was one of the more interesting menu items ever seen. A box of animal shaped ravioli served with a flavoured ‘Sipahh’ straw definitely brought a bunch of excitement when introduced at the end of 2006.

Unfortunately due to poor sales, Pasta Zoo was taken off the menu in 2008!

Mini’s – Hungry Jacks
In 2012, Hungry Jacks launched a new menu item called ‘Mini’s’ which consisted of two bite size slider type burgers conjoined to one another. These were perfect as a snack and came in three flavours such as Cheeseburger, Chicken and BBQ Rodeo.
After a few years, Mini’s were taken off the menu before being re-released for a limited time in 2018.
I have good memories of getting these after school just to fill the void before dinner. These need to come back!
